WHAT I'VE DONE
WHAT I DO
I'm a licensed social scientist-turned UX designer and researcher who is passionate about the nuance of "why" in people. I approach research and design through a social psychology lens and strive to influence the UX profession to prioritize and increase ethically minded design approaches.
I value a holistic multidisciplinary approach and revel in the struggle to understand the next problem.
Favorite office snack: Hot Cheese Popcorn. @ me.
In another life, I was the social worker and Vice Principal of Student Development at a high school in the South Bronx. Growth mindset, dynamic systems and empathy were all essential for my transition to UX/UI design and research.
The greatest lesson working with students taught me is that hard work in life without a little goofiness is a missed opportunity that limits both growth and success.
Favorite student quote: "Miss, I don't get stressed out. I get stressed in." #profound
As designers we are ultimately culture gatekeepers and I believe we have a duty to ensure we constantly learn from the people who interact with what we design.
I work to ensure my designs give people the tools they need to be durably successful in an environment they feel connected to and proud to be a part of. I care about self-as-instrument development, social justice and having hard the conversations.
